(Yicai Global) Oct. 30 -- A Chinese firm has developed a new graphene coating product that effectively protects jet turbine blades against heat.

Yuanke Qinhuangdao Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Development Co., which is headquartered in east-central China's Hebei province, is the developer, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The coating is a heat insulation and heat and corrosion resistant material, and can withstand temperatures of up to 1,500 degrees Celsius to prolong the service life of engine blades.
