(Yicai Global) Feb. 19 -- China's largest online car-hailing service provider Didi Chuxing Technology will lay out CNY100 million (USD14.3 million) to install protective film on cars in its service during the Covid-19 epidemic to shield its drivers and riders from cross-contagion, the company said in a statement yesterday.
Online car-hailing drivers can follow the installation tutorial included in the Didi app to purchase the plastic sheeting and adhere it themselves and receive reimbursement from the company via an online application.
Beijing-based Did has already applied the scheme in more than 10 cities, including Shenzhen and the epidemic center of Wuhan since Feb. 8 and 6,087 of its cars had been so equipped as of yesterday, according to the firm.
