(Yicai Global) Sept. 1 – China's east-central Henan province, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) will jointly build CAS-UCLA (Henan) University in Zhengzhou, the city government said in a development plan it outed on its website two days ago.

CAS-UCLA (Henan) University will capitalize on the CAS and UCLA's academic, research and teaching resources to promote the sharing of quality research and teaching resources and cultivation of top talents as it strives to become a world-famous university focusing on sciences and Internet technologies.

Students attending the university will study at CAS-UCLA (Henan) University for two years before taking lessons at UCLA for another two years, per the plan.

The blueprint, which outlines the development of the Zhengzhou National Demonstration Zone of Independent Innovation between 2016 and 2025, does not state when the university will be built.
