(Yicai) May 17 -- Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings will release its first large language model app open to the public.

Yuanbao, based on Tencent’s large language artificial intelligence model Hunyuan, will be available for individual users as an app from May 30, Jiang Jie, vice president of the Shenzhen-based company, said at a conference today.

Tencent is already offering the same services as Yuanbao through Hunyuan Assistant, a chatbot based on Hunyuan, on mobile phones, but only through website and WeChat mini-program.

Released last September, Hunyuan is only open to enterprises and individual developers through Tencent Cloud. The overall performance of Hunyuan has ranked first in China, as it can generate 16-second videos and three-dimensional models of images in only 30 seconds, according to Jiang.

Tencent also unveiled Yunaqi today, a one-stop AI agent creation and distribution platform based on Hunyuan that allows enterprises and developers to directly create agents, plug-ins, or knowledge bases and distribute them through QQ, WeChat, and Tencent Cloud.

Tencent is accelerating the integration of Hunyuan into different industries, as it has already been tested in 600 internal business scenarios, including Tencent Meetings, said Tang Daosheng, senior executive VP of Tencent and chief executive officer of the company’s Cloud and Smart Industries Group.

For the medical industry scenario, Hunyuan provides guidance and assistance, follow-up advice, and electronic medical record generation to doctors and patients in more than 10 leading departments of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Tang noted.

Tencent also launched three large-scale native toolchain models today, namely Knowledge Engine, Image Creation Engine, and Video Creation Engine, to help enterprises improve the quality and efficiency of knowledge services and image and video creation.

“The creation of large models is only the starting point, as the goal is to implement technologies into industrial scenarios and create value,” said Tang. Tencent is building the AI nearest to industries to help them become smart, he added.
