(Yicai) Sept. 22 -- Shares of RoboTechnik Intelligent Technology surged after the Chinese supplier of automated production equipment said it had received a CNY165 million (USD22.6 million) order from an Indian solar cell and module maker.

RoboTechnik [SHE: 300757] gained 8.9 percent to close at CNY65.40 (USD8.73) a share in Shenzhen today, after soaring by as much as 9.8 percent in the late afternoon.

RoboTechnik has inked a supply deal with Tata Power Solar, a unit of Indian conglomerate Tata Group, worth the same as about 18.3 percent of its audited revenue last year, the Suzhou-based company announced late yesterday. It did not disclose further details, including specific equipment and delivery times.

It is RoboTechnik's largest order from TP Solar, after the pair inked an equipment supply deal worth CNY13.6 million (USD1.9 million) in 2020 and another of CNY1.9 million (USD260,224) last year, the firm pointed out.

RoboTechnik supplies high-end industrial automation gear and related smart software. Its domestic clients include industrial giants Tongwei Group, Trina Solar, Jinko Solar, and JA Solar Technology, with CSI Solar, REC Group, and Sunpower among its overseas customers, according to its 2022 financial report.
