China's Kunlun Tech Unveils AI-Powered Reel Platform China's Kunlun Tech Unveils AI-Powered Reel Platform

(Yicai) Aug. 20 -- Kunlun Tech, the Chinese internet and gaming company behind the Opera browser, has released an artificial intelligence reel production platform.

SkyReels, which is available on its namesake website, integrates fully automated script generation, character customization, intelligent storyboarding, plot design, dialogue and background music, and film synthesis into a single experience, allowing creators to quickly generate AI reels and videos of any genre up to 180 seconds long, the Beijing-based firm announced yesterday.

Moreover, SkyReels ensures consistency of characters and scenes while delivering character performances based on the story, automatically converts storyboards into continuous high-definition videos at 1080 pixels and 60 frames per second, integrates all creative outputs within one click, supports quick export in multiple formats, and facilitates easy post-production editing.

SkyReels combines Kunlun Tech's script-writing large language model SkyScript, storyboard LLM StoyboardGen, and three-dimensional generation LLM Sky3DGen, as well as WorldEngine, an innovative platform integrating AI 3D engines with AI video generation models for unprecedented creativity.

SkyReels will revolutionize the video content creation process, freeing creators from complex workflows and focusing on creative realization and inspiration, thus bringing the dream of "one person, one film" closer to reality, according to Kunlun Tech. The platform will also lower the barriers to AI reel creation, allowing non-professionals to easily get started.

"As the barrier to content creation is halved, the number of content creators will grow 10-fold," Fang Han, chairman and chief executive officer of Kunlun Tech, said at the World AI Conference last month. AI will bring global cultural equity and huge overseas opportunities, as well as foster many new AI user-generated content platforms, Fang noted.

SkyReels can also be used by mini-drama series producers. According to a research report by Huatai Securities, the 'AI + mini-drama' model is driving efficient script production and promotion. As high-quality script and reel generation are crucial for the fast-moving mini-drama industry, products like SkyReels are much needed.

Chinese short drama producers can rack in about USD36 billion from the overseas market, according to a report by Guohao Securities.

On Aug. 14, Kunlun Tech released two AI music generators powered by SkyMusic 2.0, the industry's first AI music model capable of consistently and stably generating endless music feed in specific styles with the ability to process lyrics of more than 500 words and produce six-minute, 4400-hertz dual-channel stereo AI songs.

The two music generators are Melodio, an AI music streaming platform, and Mureka, an AI music generation and sharing platform.

Kunlun Tech also launched LLMs for search and text creation.
