(Yicai) Jan. 25 -- Chinese e-commerce giant JD.Com has joined hands with UK parcel delivery firm Evri to improve their business capabilities in Europe and China.

The partnership will bring together JD.Com’s advanced e-commerce capabilities in China with Evri’s extensive delivery network across Europe, offer European businesses a seamless and efficient gateway to access JD.Com’s customers in China, and enhance JD.Com’s pick-up service to European and UK customers, the Beijing-based company announced yesterday.

Evri will receive valuable insights into the Chinese market, including consumer behavior, marketing, and pricing strategies, product selection advice, and online operational strategies, JD.Com added, noting that the partnership will initially focus on the beauty and apparel sectors.

“By integrating Evri’s extensive delivery network with its cutting-edge e-commerce and logistics solutions, JD.Com is enhancing its service capabilities in Europe and simultaneously offering European brands a direct and efficient pathway to the expansive Chinese market,” said Qun Xue, vice president of JD.Com and head of JD Logistics International.

Moreover, the collaboration will enable JD Logistics to offer integrated warehousing and comprehensive delivery solutions to clients in Europe by leveraging Evri’s local distribution network and JD.Com’s self-operated overseas warehouses, JD.Com pointed out.

JD Logistics has nearly 90 overseas, bonded, and direct-delivery warehouses worldwide, with its logistics and supply chain services covering the majority of countries and regions.

Founded in 1974, Evri is the UK’s biggest dedicated parcel delivery company, delivering over 720 million parcels a year, JD.Com noted. It has a team of more than 8,000 employees, 20,000 couriers, and 10,000 out-of-home locations.
