(Yicai) Nov. 14 -- Chinese mining contractor JCHX Mining Management has secured a USD195 million mining service contract for a zinc and copper project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KingKi Mining, JCHX’s unit in the DRC, has received a mining service contract from the Kipushi zinc and copper mine owned by Canada’s Ivanhoe Mines to mine minerals between 1,200 meters and 1,590 meters underground from Aug. 1, 2023, to January 31, 2028, the Beijing-based parent company announced late yesterday.
The Kipushi mine is located near the town of Kipushi, in the southwestern regions of Shaba province in the DRC, adjacent to Zambia, JCHX noted, without revealing any further details.
