China's GATD Surges on Int'l Aviation Parts Deal China's GATD Surges on Int'l Aviation Parts Deal

(Yicai) Feb. 6 -- Shares of Guizhou Aviation Technical Development jumped after the Chinese metal components manufacturer secured a long-term supply agreement with an international aircraft engine customer, potentially worth about USD65 million.

GATD [SHA: 688239] closed 4.9 percent higher at CNY41.03 (USD5.60) in Shanghai today after reaching a 5 percent gain earlier.

The engine maker will purchase forgings from GATD over five years starting this year, the Guiyang-based supplier announced yesterday. Due to a confidentiality agreement, GATD did not disclose the client's name. However, it did say that the client is a large international manufacturer of commercial aircraft engines and a Fortune Global 500 company with good credit standing. It has no affiliation with the Chinese firm.

Based on product prices and delivery schedules from end customers, GATD expects to earn USD65 million during the contract period, though the specific sum has not yet been finalized.

The agreement is expected to boost GATD's market share and industry influence in aerospace engine forgings. The long-term partnership with a prominent global customer will help ensure stable demand for core products while enhancing GATD's technological competitiveness and supporting business expansion.

Founded in 2006, GATD became the first Guizhou-based company to list on Shanghai's high-tech-oriented Star Market in 2021. The firm provides precision manufacturing solutions for aviation, aerospace, ships, and new energy sectors.
