(Yicai) Dec. 18 -- Chinese sensor provider Cubic Sensor and Instrument has become the designated supplier of air quality sensors for the new model of a well-known European carmaker.
Cubic Sensor will supply automotive-grade air quality sensor assemblies to an unnamed European automobile manufacturer for its four vehicle platforms for the life span of 10 years from 2025, the Wuhan-based company announced late on Dec. 15.
The order, which reflects the client’s recognition of Cubic Sensor’s research and development and quality control capabilities, is expected to bring the firm a total of about CNY127 million (USD18 million), Cubic Sensor added, without disclosing the client’s name.
Moreover, the order will increase the proportion of Cubic Sensor’s automotive products, thus helping the company expand its market share in the business segments of in-car air quality improvement devices and security system sensors.
Cubic Sensor’s in-car sensors business segment has seen very fast growth. Last year, sales revenue of the company’s in-car sensors rose 118 percent from the previous year, much faster than its 10 percent overall business revenue growth, according to the firm’s annual earnings report for last year.
Cubic Sensor [SHA: 688665] was trading down 0.6 percent at CNY69 (USD9.68) as of lunch break in Shanghai today.
