(Yicai) Jan. 3 -- Chinese energy storage developer Clou Electronics has secured an order from a US client engaged in the construction of energy storage, solar, and resilient power generation facilities.
Clou will deliver 480-megawatt-hour container-type energy storage systems and 200-megawatt-power conversion system skids to Stella Energy Solution at the client’s designated location in Texas, the Shenzhen-based firm announced yesterday.
The pair will determine the order’s details, such as the purchase amount and value, in the future, Clou added, without revealing any further details.
Container-type energy storage systems exchange energy with various kinds of power supplies, including new energies, power grids, and electricity-consuming facilities, through the charging and discharging of the power conversion system. They use lithium-iron phosphate batteries as energy carriers.
The order will strengthen the long-term cooperation between Clou and Stella Energy, Clou pointed out.
Stella Energy develops, builds, owns, and operates clean energy generation and storage facilities across the US, according to its website. The firm has more than 2 gigawatts and 4.4 gigawatt-hours of clean energy projects in operation, construction, or contracted.
Clou is a supplier of energy-storage equipment and solutions. Last June, the Chinese home appliance giant Midea Group acquired nearly 23 percent of Clou, becoming its actual controller.
Clou’s shares [SHE: 002121] closed unchanged at CNY5.54 (78 US cents) in Shenzhen today.
