(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- China Wuyi Co. [SHE:000797] will be responsible for a highway construction scheme in Uganda worth USD25.9 million (CNY172 million).
The company said today that it received notice that it won the bid for the Fort Portal-Hima highway project from the Uganda National Roads Authority.
The 55-kilometer road will be in a western province in Uganda. The 18-month project covers construction site surface cleaning, drainage system cleaning, original pavement repairs and asphalt surface treatment and has a 12-month warranty, Wuyi said.
The project is expected to achieve a profit of CNY8 million, which will not significantly impact the company's financial status for this year or future operations, the firm said.
