(Yicai Global) Nov. 30 -- China's ministry of culture will tighten regulation of online games market, particularly mobile game products, strictly deal with prohibited contents containing pornography, gambling and violence, as well as those endangering social morality. The ministry will also standardize the operation order of the games market, it said on its website yesterday.

The relevant law enforcement agencies currently investigate and deal with more than 80 network game cases across China, the ministry revealed. Online games produced by 35 network game operating entities from Beijing, Sichuan, Guangdong and other eight provinces and cities contain prohibited contents. Those who violate regulations will be fined and will receive other administrative penalties, while their illegal income will be confiscated, it added.

Another six operators from Beijing, Shanghai and Sichuan are engaged in prohibited contents and will be punished accordingly.

In order to further strengthen regulation on the mobile game market and protect the rights and interests of the young people, the ministry of culture will randomly choose 50 brands among main mobile game products to conduct comprehensive inspection to determine whether the games include prohibited contents and induce users to invest money in improper ways and if there is real-name registration as required.
