(Yicai Global) Nov. 15 -- China used an increasing amount of electricity in October while its service sector has been leading the growth during the past 10 months.
China's electricity consumption rose by 5 percent from a year ago, logging a 0.6 percentage point increase in growth from September, according to data from the National Development and Reform Commission.
During the first 10 months, consumption climbed by 4.4 percent. The service sector recorded a 9.3 percent increase, while the manufacturing sector had the slowest gain of 3 percent. Residential usage edged up by 5.9 percent and agricultural one by 5.2 percent.
Southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the southwestern Tibet Autonomous Region both had double-digit increases in consumption.
