(Yicai Global) Dec. 2 -- China and the United States have agreed not to impose more tariffs starting Jan. 1, says Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen.

The two sides also agree to step up negotiations toward the elimination of all additional tariffs, Wang said at a press conference following a working dinner that has just concluded between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump after the Group of 20 summit in Argentina's capital city of Buenos Aires.

The Xi-Trump meeting was friendly and candid, says Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the press briefing.
