(Yicai Global) Dec. 14 -- China's government is poised to name the deputy mayor of Tianjin municipality in northern China as a vice chairman of the securities regulator, news portal Sina reported yesterday.
Yan Qingmin, 56, has strong business skills with a high level of financial knowledge as well as regulatory experience, an insider said. He has worked in the People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, the China Banking Regulatory Commission as well as the government of Tianjin, one of the nation's four municipalities.
The watchdog has four vice chairmen and three assistant chairmen.
Yan graduated from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and received a doctoral degree in economics from Renmin University of China in Beijing.
