China to Expand Soybean Fields by 6,666 Square Kilometers This Year

(Yicai Global) June 26 -- China will increase its soybean planting area by more than 10 million mu (6,666 square kilometers) this year to take the nationwide total to 130 million mu, the Ministry of Agriculture said at a press briefing today.
This will mark the fourth year of increases in soybean field area as China looks to expand domestic production, it added.
