(Yicai Global) March 26 -- China's high-level political meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia uses fifth-generation wireless technology for the first time. 

China Telecom provides Hainan Television and Hainan Network Television with 5G so that viewers can live-stream 4K ultra-high-definition reports from the event, and see real-time footage from the telecom firm's virtual reality panoramic camera, China News Service reported today. 

The Beijing-headquartered network operator started testing 5G in the southern region once it got an approval to do so last February. 

Participants can witness 5G projects involving the Internet of Vehicles, as well as telemedicine, and tech-aided first aid during the conference that ends on March 29, according to the report.
