(Yicai Global) March 31 -- China's mainland stock markets closed higher after an afternoon dip as tourism, apparel, smart speakers and medical equipment firms felt the heat, even as agricultural shares, including those in hog-rearing, dairy, corn and legume surged.

The Shanghai Composite Index finished up 0.11 percent at 2,750.30 on turnover of CNY224.3 billion (USD31.6 billion), and the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.58 percent to 9,962.30 on a volume of CNY337.5 billion (USD47.6 billion), while the ChiNext, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, rose 0.61 percent to 1,871.92 as about CNY105 billion changed hands.

The Shanghai Composite slid nearly 10 percent in the first quarter, while the Shenzhen Component dropped more than 4 percent and the ChiNext climbed over 4 percent.
