(Yicai Global) Nov. 15 -- China will make efforts to keep the prices of natural gas within a reasonable range, according to a spokesperson of the nation's top macroeconomic planning agency.
The market is currently well-balanced as the rise in demand is stable while the supply is relatively ample, Meng Wei from the National Development and Reform Commission said in a press conference today.
In mid-November, residents in China's northern provinces usually turn their heating on and meanwhile, the government has started to restrict the use of coal-burning heating systems, which has caused surges in the demand for natural gas in the past wintertimes.
