China's Stock Markets Start Higher on Real Estate Boost

(Yicai Global) Dec. 9 -- Chinese mainland stock markets opened higher this morning, led by real estate developers.  

The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.08 percent to 2,914.46. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 9,908.97, up 0.31 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, started 0.39 percent higher at 1,733.48.

During the first five minutes of trading, real estate developers gained 1.16 percent. Electronic equipment makers followed with a 0.91 percent climb and software developers advanced 0.80 percent.
