(Yicai Global) Oct. 30 -- China's stock markets opened weaker in early trading today, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index below 3400 points again after a brief period of momentum last week. 

After consistent upward momentum over several consecutive months, selling pressure is now evident across almost all the major market sectors.

At 10.05 a.m., the Shanghai Composite Index was down 1.39 percent at 3,369.00 points after falling 0.09 percent at the open.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 2.19 percent to 11,194 points after an almost flat open.

The Growth Enterprise Index, mostly comprising small-cap companies, felt the most pressure, falling 2.21 percent to 1,854 points to continue its 0.07 percent decline at the opening.
