(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- China's stock markets closed higher today. The Shanghai Stock Exchange edged up in late trade, while the Growth Enterprise Index added nearly 1 percent.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.06 percent to 3,380.70 points at the close, turning over 164.4 billion yuan (USD24.7 billion).

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,306.31 points, up 0.60 percent, with 219.4 billion yuan swapped.

The Growth Enterprise Index advanced 0.99 percent to 1,898.76 points, with turnover of 63.7 billion yuan.
