(Yicai Global) Jan. 16 -- China Southern Airlines Co. will start sharing flights with American Airlines Inc. from January 18, which will further improve the companies’ networks in China and the US, China News Service reported.
China Southern will market and assign designators to American Airlines flights from Los Angeles to Houston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Phoenix, and from San Francisco to Dallas and Phoenix under the codeshare agreement.
American Airlines will put its code on China Southern routes connecting Beijing to Guangzhou, Shenyang, Changsha, Dalian, Shenzhen, Harbin, Changchun, Chongqing and Nanning.
The two groups set up a partnership to extend each other’s route networks in March last year.
China Southern entered the US market in 1997. It operates routes from Guangzhou to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. The Chinese carrier hopes to better expand its international business and presence in North American by working with American Airlines.
