(Yicai Global) March 26 -- China Southern Airlines has chosen China's Guangtai Airport Equipment as its supplier for refrigerated vehicles in the state-backed aviation firm's new base at Beijing's upcoming international airport.
Guangtai has obtained a CNY35.2 million (USD5.2 million) purchase order from China Southern Airlines regarding vehicles for frozen food transport at Beijing's Daxing International Airport, the Weihai-based airport ground equipment supplier said in a statement yesterday.
The company won CNY107.4 million worth of bids last year to prepare the aviation base for launch this September. Guangtai will supply CNY38.2 million worth of de-icing vehicles for the airport's construction headquarters. The firm will also sell CNY22.9 million worth of cars to help passengers with reduced mobility to board on China Southern Airlines' flights.
The total value of contracts signed between Guangtai and China Southern Airlines last year reached CNY55.6 million, more than doubling from 2017.
Guangzhou-headquartered China Southern Airlines is one of the two aviation companies that will shift its base to the new airport.
