(Yicai Global) May 14 -- Shouhang IHW Resources Saving Technology, a Chinese clean energy firm, will build hydrogen production facilities and refueling stations in Datong in northern Shanxi province.
The Beijing-based firm aims to become the biggest player in the province's hydrogen energy sector, it said in a statement.
The firm will build one plant next year, rising to three by 2024. It also aims to construct two or three hydrogen refueling stations by the end of 2020, rising to between 10 and 20 by 2021. The firm will also build three or five distributed hydrogen power stations and aims to achieve the joint supply of clean thermoelectricity. The statement did specify investment amounts for the projects.
Datong's municipal government aims to promote the use of the stations among its local buses. It will also set up a fund of at least CNY2 billion (USD291 million) for the hydrogen energy sector and will use it to assist Shouhang.
Local authorities will also provide land, subsidies, political supporting subsidies and preferential tax measures for Shouhang's projects.
