(Yicai Global) April 22 – China's three major stock indexes all closed down as declines gained traction in the afternoon session.
The Shanghai Composite Index was down 1.70 percent at 3,215.04 on volume of CNY359.2 billion (USD53.5 billion). The Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.86 percent to 10,224.31 on turnover of CNY445.1 billion. The ChiNext Index dropped 1.07 percent to 1,697.51, with CNY445.1 billion changing hands.
More than 2,600 stocks ended lower, with cement, civil aviation, banking, real estate and home appliances slipping the most, though hemp stocks managed a comeback. Oil services, hydrogen energy, pork and soybeans were also on the up and up.
