China's Service Sector PMI in China Rose to 51.9 Last Month, Caixin Reports China's Service Sector PMI in China Rose to 51.9 Last Month, Caixin Reports

(Yicai Global) Dec. 5 -- The Purchasing Managers' Index of China's general services sector issued by Caixin (service sector PMI) rose to 51.9 from 51.2 last month, for the fastest growth in the past three months, Caixin.com reported today.

Despite the decline declared for the Caixin China PMI for the manufacturing sector, driven by the recovering service sector PMI, the Caixin China overall PMI rose to 51.6 last month, up 0.6 percentage points over October, and indicating a slight growth in economic activity, but one still feebler as against average values in previous records.

The Caixin PMI shows the economy staying stable without significant downside risks. A sustained rise in the price level may however result in greater inflationary pressures early next year, cautioned Zhong Zhengsheng, chairman and chief economist of CEB Monitor Research.
