(Yicai Global) Sept. 5 -- A unit under China's Sanhua Intelligent Controls has landed a long-term contract to sell its electronic water pumps to American carmaker General Motors.
The agreement between GM and Sanhua subsidiary Sanhua Auto Parts could generate CNY1 billion (USD140 million) in revenue over the next five years, the Zhejiang-based thermal management systems developer said in a statement yesterday. The cars using the pumps will hit the market in 2022.
The pump fits both new-energy and fossil-fueled vehicles, according to the statement, which fits Sanhua Auto Parts' recent move into the NEV sector. Some of its best-known clients in the field include Volvo and Chinese EV specialist Nio.
