(Yicai Global) Nov. 13 -- Zhejiang Sanhua Intelligent Controls has penned a CNY2 billion (USD285 million) deal to become General Motor's sole supplier of thermal management components for the carmaker's electric vehicle platform.

GM informed Sanhua subsidiary Zhejiang Sanhua Automotive Components that it wants to use Sanhua battery cooling components and thermal management valves it for its BEV3 platform, the supplier's parent said in a statement yesterday.

The six-year contract deepens existing ties between GM and Sanhua Automotive Components, who signed a CNY1 billion purchase deal in September for electronic water pumps to be fitted in GM cars from 2022.

The supplier is a specialist in automotive thermal management systems and has recently begun foraying into the new-energy vehicle market, penning deals with customers like Volvo New Energy Vehicles and Chinese EV maker Nio.
