(Yicai Global) Jan. 12 -- China reported 100 more cases of human infection of avian influenza A (H7N9) in December last year, confirming an earlier assessment by the National Health and Family Planning Commission that China has hit the peak season for H7N9 avian influenza.

There were 106 additional cases of human H7N9 infection in China last December, including 20 deaths, according to data concerning infections of epidemic diseases in China published by the Commission on its website yesterday. Only six cases of human H7N9 infection were reported last November, with no fatality.

The commission has taken active epidemic prevention and control measures and has dispatched steering groups to oversee prevention and control at key provinces in partnership with the ministry of agriculture and other relevant ministries.
