(Yicai Global) Dec. 31 -- An increasing number of Russian tourists chose China as their holiday destination this year and almost half of them went to southern China's Hainan island province.

The number of Russian travelers to China was 655,000 with an increase of 22 percent from a year ago, Sputnik News reported today, citing data from a Russian travel organization. Each of the tourists spent USD1,200, it added.
