(Yicai Global) Aug. 18 -- China's national QR Code standard evaluation and certification system officially debuted yesterday.

National standards will effectively prevent false information dissemination via QR code, including hidden backdoors and consumer snares.

The China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, China Quality Certification Center and GS1 China jointly held their QR code national standard certification system start press conference, CCTV News reported. The China QR code registration platform's website was revealed at the briefing, and enterprises and commercial institutions can log in to it to acquire QR codes conforming to national standards.

The conference also announced the QR code national standard certification promotion plan. The scale of the QR code market in China will reach CNY200 billion (USD30 billion) by 2020.

Over 1 million Chinese enterprises will use QR codes conforming to national standards within three years. Relevant departments are formulating QR codes that comply with international standards to control global right of speech and dominant right, said Zhang Chao, Executive Director of China Registration & Certification of Two-Dimensional Code (CNRT).

Currently, QR codes have permeated every field of economy and life, and represent an important technical measure to realize online and offline information interaction. They can be used for object identification recognition, automatic information acquisition, mobile payment, certificate and ticket services, and social contacts.

"QR codes serve an irreplaceable function in e-commerce, and the world appreciates China for its development of the online economy, platform economy and sharing economy," said Xie Shaofeng, director of the Informatization and Software Service Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
