(Yicai Global) Oct. 18 -- China's mainland stock markets extended losses in afternoon trading as new economic data that suggested slowing growth dampened market sentiments.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.32 percent to 2,938.14. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.16 percent to 9,533.51. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, slid 0.58 percent to 1,648.63.
China's gross domestic product rose by 6.2 percent from a previous year in the first three third quarters, according to data that the National Bureau of Statistics released today. The target range is from 6 to 6.5 for the whole year.
