(Yicai Global) Oct. 18 --  China's mainland stock markets extended losses in afternoon trading as  new economic data that suggested slowing growth dampened market  sentiments.

The  Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.32 percent to 2,938.14. The Shenzhen  Component Index dropped 1.16 percent to 9,533.51. The ChiNext Price  Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, slid 0.58  percent to 1,648.63.

China's  gross domestic product rose by 6.2 percent from a previous year in the  first three third quarters, according to data that the National Bureau of Statistics  released today. The target range is from 6 to 6.5 for the whole year.
