(Yicai) June 24 -- Cheng Yingsheng, the president of Tongji Hospital, is being investigated by the Discipline Inspection Committee of Tongji University and the Supervision Commission of Hongkou district in Shanghai.

Cheng, who became president of Tongji Hospital in 2021, is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law, Yicai learned today.

Cheng graduated with a master's degree in medical imaging from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 1996 and later worked at the radiology department of the Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, Tongji Hospital said in January. Cheng has become a radiology expert and receives a special allowance from China's cabinet.
