(Yicai Global) Aug. 23 -- Stocks in Chinese firms engaged in the poultry and vaccine sectors received a boost in trading today following the discovery of a fourth case of African Swine fever in the country.

Veterinarian drug maker Ringpu Bio-Technology [SHE:300119] hit the daily 10 percent upper limit in trading today to close at CNY8.77 (USD 1.28), while Pulike Biological Engineering [SHA:603566] closed up 5.75 percent at CNY 15.18.

Poultry stock also benefited from the news with Sunner Development [SHE:002299] closing up 3.75 percent at CNY16.33 and Minhe Animal Husbandry [SHE:002234] rising 2.46 percent to CNY 12.48.

The latest outbreak of African Swine Fever was discovered in Wenzhou in the country's eastern Zhejiang province. Authorities found some 430 infected pigs, with 340 of them already dead. The local government has taken measures to control the spread of the virus.

China's agricultural ministry is working closely with police and other relevant authorities to investigate the specific sources of the virus to see whether there is any relationship among the different cases.
