(Yicai Global) Oct. 19 -- Xiaoheiban, an app run by Shanghai Xiaoxin Information Technology Co. to improve communication between parents and schools, raised tens of millions of yuan in pre-A financing, 36Kr reported.
The firm currently focuses on the Shanghai market, where 80 percent of its customers are based.
Xiaoheiban, which translates to 'little blackboard,' is a tool tailor-made for communication between parents and schools. It has four main functions, messaging, surveys, discussions and notes, to help parents, teachers and schools better understand and teach their students.
Before the company began promoting the app, it was covering 15,000 schools in China, including 3,000 in Shanghai. More than 100,000 teachers and almost a million families are on Xiaoheiban. Teachers use the app around once every two days.
