(Yicai Global) Oct. 22 -- Some 100 million Chinese people are among the world's richest 10 percent, more than the US's 99 million and giving the Asian nation an edge for the first time ever, The Paper cited the Credit Suisse Research Institute as saying.
Those making up the world's wealthiest 10 percent have a net worth of at least USD100,000, the report added.
Some 1.1 million people have become dollar millionaires so far this year, according to Credit Suisse. Over half were from the US while 187,000 came from Japan and 158,000 from China.
China now has 4.4 million dollar millionaires and 18,132 people with net assets worth at least USD50 million, ranking second worldwide behind the US.
