(Yicai Global) June 23 -- Newrizon has supplied its first batch of pure electric lightweight trucks to the logistics arm of e-commerce giant JD.com and the pair will continue to work closely on urban smart transport, the Chinese manufacturer of smart connected new energy commercial vehicles said.
A ceremony was held in Haikou, capital of southern Hainan province, to mark the arrival of the first shipment of Newrizon EC1s, the Shanghai-based company said yesterday. The number of vehicles in the first batch and the amount to be delivered this year were not given. No financial details were mentioned either.
The EC1 is the 21-month-old firm's first product to hit the market. Weighing just 4.5 tons, it has a long battery life and extremely low energy consumption. All the software is developed inhouse. The EC1’s special design allows it to carry around 20 percent more goods than similar models.
