(Yicai Global) Aug. 11 -- As the economy recovers and people's eagerness to travel grows, the production and sales of China’s new energy vehicles reached 100,000 and 98,000, respectively, last month in annual 15.6 percent and 19.3 percent rises, the first increases this year, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers announced today.

NEV sales will hit 1.1 million vehicles this year, of which Tesla is expected to unload 100,000, projected Xu Haidong, deputy chief engineer of the association.
