(Yicai Global) June 25 -- China Mobile will own more than 50,000 base stations for the fifth-generation wireless communications network by this year's end.
It will also supply commercial 5G services to over 50 cities, said Yang Jie, its president, at the company's 5G+ press conference held today.
China's largest mobile telecommunication service provider's 5G network coverage will further expand by next year to provide commercial services in all regional hub cities, Yang said.
It will also offer 200 gigabytes of data per month in its trial 5G plan, and the package will include 1,000 minutes and 100 text messages, the company announced in a press briefing today.
China Mobile today also officially introduced its 5G+ Plan, in which it unveiled a series of 5G cooperation policies, businesses, terminals and innovative application schemes for customers, sectors and its partner ecosystems. The Beijing-based company will invest CNY3 billion to create 5G ultra-high-definition video content and join hands with its partners to innovate content for UHD videos, instant games and video ring-back tones that apply the new wireless communications standard, Yang said.
The company has thus far conducted 5G application innovations at 74 scenarios in 14 key sectors nationwide, he added.
China Mobile will push the integration of 5G and Big Data technology to build an industry-leading Big Data capability platform, Yang pledged.
