(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland moved mostly higher today, with only Shenzhen's small-cap heavy ChiNext board failed to make ground.

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.88 percent at 2,973.66 when the market closed, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.30 percent higher at 9,666.58. The ChiNext Price Index ended the day slightly down 0.01 percent at 1,666.83.

For the week, the Shanghai Composite Index was up 2.36 percent, the Shenzhen Component Index grew 2.33 percent, and the ChiNext Price Index ended up 2.41 percent.
