China's Mainland Stock Markets Open Lower Amid Global Corrections

(Yicai Global) Dec. 4 -- China's mainland stock markets opened lower this morning, after the US markets dropped for two straight days and kicked off a global retreat in the financial sector.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.27 percent lower at 2,876.91, while the Shenzhen Component Index started at 9,624.19, down 0.35 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, opened down 0.52 percent at 1,666.60.

Stateside exchanges declined again yesterday, with the Dow Jones Industrial average falling 1 percent after a 0.96 percent loss on Dec. 2.
