(Yicai Global) Jan. 17 -- China's mainland stock markets fluctuated in a narrow range this afternoon and ended the week with a mixed close.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.05 percent higher at 3,075.50, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished at 10,954.39, down 0.12 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, ended 0.13 percent higher at 1,932.51.

Trading volume was lower than usual, likely down to the approaching Chinese New Year holiday, though the government revealed today that China's economic growth was 6.1 percent last year, within its target range.
