(Yicai Global) Jan. 16 -- China's mainland stock markets opened higher this morning after the country struck the first phase an economic and trade deal with the United States.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.18 percent higher at 3,095.73, while the Shenzhen Component Index started at 10,986.65, up 0.13 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, began just 0.01 percent higher at 1,924.52.
Vice Premier Liu He and United States President Donald Trump penned the agreement at the White House yesterday, local time.
