(Yicai Global) July 26 -- Shanghai's intellectual property bureau will prioritize patent applications for new innovative products showcased in the second upcoming China International Import Expo to enhance copyright protection. 

The range includes invention, utility and design patents, said Lin Guoliang, an official at the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration said at a press conference yesterday. The expo will be held in Shanghai in November.

Entities must submit their applications online. Regarding inventions, the SIPA will give its decision within one year after the National Intellectual Property Administration has approved the application. The period for utility and design patents will be two months.
