(Yicai Global) Nov. 10 -- The new passenger Aircraft C919 AC101 made by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has completed its test flights and is set to fly to Xi'an, capital of central China's Shaanxi province.
C919's first intercity flight comes after completion of all test flights made in Shanghai and getting airworthiness certification. It marks that COMAC's project has moved into the stage of extension of flight envelope from initial test flights.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) accepted COMAC's application for qualification certificate after carrying out corresponding airworthy reviews in line with procedures. COMAC had applied for the qualification certificate of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its C919 AC101 large passenger aircraft.
At present, some 27 clients in and outside China have ordered a total of 730 C919 jetliners, half of which have already been confirmed.
