China Had a Services Trade Deficit of USD18.3 Billion in April, SAFE Data Shows

(Yicai Global) June 1 -- In dollar terms, China's international goods and services trade income in its international balance of payments was USD192 billion in April, while expenditures were USD168 billion, with a surplus of USD23 billion.

The China State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) posted these figures on its website yesterday.

The data shows the country had a goods trade surplus of USD42 billion and a services trade deficit of USD18 billion.

In yuan terms, China's international goods and services trade income in the international balance of payments was CNY1.32 trillion in April, while expenditures were CNY1.16 trillion, with a surplus of CNY161 billion. To break this down, the country had a goods trade surplus of CNY287 billion, while it had a services trade deficit of CNY126 billion.
