(Yicai Global) Oct. 10 -- China's central government yesterday provided container and vehicle inspection equipment to Mongolia Customs Agency as non-reimbursable aid, state-owned news agency Xinhua reported.

At the delivery ceremony, held in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, the head of the nation's customs agency thanked the Chinese government for its longstanding support.

The equipment provided will greatly enhance the sovereign state's custom inspection capabilities, he added, saying the country is willing to make its own contribution toward friendly economic ties between China and Mongolia, as well as to the construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.

The two countries are good friends and good neighbors with long borders, China's ambassador to Mongolia, Xing Haiming, said at the ceremony. In recent years, the pair has carried out extensive cooperation in various fields. China has been Mongolia's biggest trading partner for many years, and commercial trading and interactions between the two are very frequent.

China granted the equipment at the request of the Mongolian government, Xing said. The aid includes multiple sets of China's cutting-edge customs inspection equipment, and will be deployed at customs agencies in Ulan Bator, Zamyn-Uud, and other locations. China hopes the move will help Mongolia improve its customs clearance procedures and make solid contributions to the construction of the economic corridor spanning the two countries and Russia.
