(Yicai Global) Aug. 21 -- China's first artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis and treatment center has officially started operations in East China's Anhui province. The opening ceremony of Anhui provincial smart hospital's AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment center was held in provincial capital of Hefei. The hospital is a result of joint efforts by iFlytek Co. [SHE:002230] and Anhui provincial hospital.
The diagnostic center will adopt medical imaging recognition and cognitive intelligence technologies to achieve image-assisted diagnosis, image diagnosis quality control, AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment, voice electronic medical records, precision medical guide and intelligent medical follow-up services. It will also provide online real-time services for various medical institutions connected to the center through artificial intelligent.
"This is an important milestone in AI + Medical for iFlytek," said Liu Qingfeng, chairman of the company. The AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment center has established links with Anhui Medical Imaging Cloud Platform and the remote consultation platform of Anhui Provincial Hospital Medical Association as well as 41 county-level hospitals. It will cover 105 counties in Anhui Province in the future.
Xu Geliang, president of Anhui provincial hospital, said AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment system will provide intelligent auxiliary diagnosis and quality inspection services for chest CT and mammography in the 41 county-level hospitals that have access to the center. The People's Hospital of Shannan Prefecture in Tibet, which receives partner assistance from Anhui Provincial Hospital, has also been connected to the system.
Since the inception of the Joint Laboratory of Medical Artificial Intelligence by iFlytek and Anhui provincial hospital in June 2016, Anhui provincial smart hospital has gradually introduced products from iFlytek, including the intelligent medical service guiding robot "Xiaoyi," the artificial intelligence medical imaging diagnostic system, the outpatient voice electronic medical records, the oral/ultrasound voice assistant, and the cloud-based mobile medical workstation, Yicai Global found.
"At present, AI-assisted lung cancer and breast cancer medical imaging diagnosis has reached the level of doctors from 3A hospitals. In the future, iFlytek will not only use AI to assist the doctors in reading diagnostic scans, but also help them make prescriptions," Liu Qingfeng claimed.
